The happiest people on earth are those who have learned the joy of giving. I know that for myself because I have practiced tithing+ for
fifteen years. That means that I give more than ten percent of my income to God’s work each year.
What happens?
There’s the joy of seeing good things in our church and knowing that I helped make it with my gift. And there’s the joy of being in something much bigger than I am. And there’s the joy of knowing that an area of my life is working as God wants. And there’s the joy of knowing that God will take care of me.
If you don’t give, then you face a financial future without God. Are you that sure that you’ll never need grace to help you through tight times? There’s a peace in generosity. What seems foolish to some is actually the smartest thing you can do.
