Christians in Cambodia do not agree on how to deal with Buddhism. Since Buddhism is vital to the history of the nation, people are respectful. Some will allow Buddhist-inspired traditions, while other Christians want to be distinct from those traditions. Do we celebrate New Years? Can we tie Buddhist ornaments on for holidays? What happens at weddings and funerals?

So your response will be guided by your own faith and the customs of Christians with whom you are traveling. The only firm principle is to show respect for an important part of Cambodia's heritage.
